Quick answers to common questions about wedding photography and videography. For more detail, browse our guides.
How early should I book a wedding photographer?
Ideally 9 to 12 months before your wedding, and even earlier for peak-season dates or popular destinations. Good photographers book up quickly.
Do I need both a photographer and a videographer?
They do different jobs. A photographer captures still moments and a videographer records movement, sound and the flow of rituals. Many couples hire both, and some teams offer combined packages.
What is the difference between candid and traditional photography?
Traditional photography covers posed group portraits and key ritual moments. Candid photography captures natural, unposed moments. Most weddings use a mix of both.
How many hours of coverage do I need?
It depends on how many functions you have and how long each lasts. Make a list of every event and ask your photographer to suggest coverage for each.
Do pre-wedding shoots need permission?
Many monuments and public places have rules, fees or timings for professional shoots. Check the current requirements for your chosen location in advance.
What if it rains on my wedding day?
Ask your venue and photographer about a sheltered backup with good lighting. Rain can also make beautiful photographs when planned for.
How are photos and films delivered?
Usually through an online gallery or download links, sometimes with printed albums. Ask about delivery time, file quality and how long the gallery stays online.
What should I share with my photographer before the wedding?
Your schedule, venue details, a list of key family members and groups, and any must-have moments or traditions. A short written list helps a lot.
What if my photographer is unavailable on the day?
A professional team should have a backup plan. Ask about this and put it in your written agreement.
Should I choose an album or digital photos?
Digital galleries are easy to share and store, while printed albums are lasting keepsakes. Many couples choose both. See our guide on albums for more help.
