Both cities are among India’s most loved wedding destinations. Both offer palaces, heritage hotels and rich traditions, but the experience is quite different.
Udaipur: lakes and romance
Udaipur is known for its lakes, palaces and sunset views. It suits couples who want a calm, romantic, scenic setting, with ceremonies on lake-facing terraces and boat arrivals.
Jaipur: grandeur and colour
Jaipur is bigger, busier and easier to reach from Delhi. Its forts, havelis and palace hotels suit large, royal-style celebrations with many guests.
For photos and films
Udaipur gives soft golden light over water. Jaipur gives bold colours, architecture and dramatic courtyards. Think about which backdrop matches the mood you imagine.
Practical points
Jaipur is generally easier for guests travelling from Delhi NCR by road or train. Udaipur often needs a flight and more planning, but feels more secluded. Check season, venue availability and permissions for shooting at heritage venues well in advance.
There is no wrong choice. Decide on guest count, travel convenience and the atmosphere you want.
